MCL hosts 4th Coal India CSR Conclave at Gopalpur, Odisha

Coal India Chairman, Shri P.M. Prasad, in his address, highlighted the core principles of People, Profit, and Planet as guiding principles and elaborated on several flagship CSR projects that have brought laurels to Coal India.

Gopalpur, Odisha: The 4th edition of the Coal India CSR Conclave was hosted by our subsidiary, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), at Gopalpur, Odisha.

Addressing the Conclave virtually, Shri Satish Chandra Dubey, Hon’ble Minister of State for Coal & Mines, highlighted the significance of Coal India’s impactful CSR initiatives and expressed confidence that the company will continue work for the welfare of people and society.

Coal India Chairman, Shri P.M. Prasad, in his address, highlighted the core principles of People, Profit, and Planet as guiding principles and elaborated on several flagship CSR projects that have brought laurels to Coal India.

Director (HR), Dr. Vinay Ranjan, highlighted Coal India’s pro-employee approach and its commitment to open and transparent policies. He stated that CSR initiatives should be need-based, fostering meaningful connections with communities.

CVO, Shri Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, emphasized that Coal India is a value-driven organization and highlighted the deep alignment between the philosophies of CSR and vigilance, both rooted in ethics, accountability, and nation-building.

The conclave also featured insights from Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, widely regarded as the father of CSR in India, who elaborated on the evolution of CSR policy and practice in the country. He emphasized the need for purpose-driven CSR, aligned with sustainable development goals.

Shri Uday A. Kaole, CMD, MCL, delivered the welcome address and highlighted MCL’s various CSR initiatives.
