Jindal (India) commences supply of coated steel to white goods industry
Jindal (India), part of the BC Jindal Group and a downstream steel products manufacturer in India, has set up additional colour-coated manufacturing capacity, enabling improved service to the country’s high-end white goods manufacturers. With this move, the company expects a 20 per cent jump in its revenue in the current financial year.
It will supply premium coated steel sheets through its OEMs channel partners to cater to the requirements of white goods industry brands, including LG, Whirlpool, and Godrej, to name a few. Jindal’s sheet offering will be used in the manufacturing of goods like washing machines, air conditioners, and other home appliances.
In our premium product portfolio, colour-coated steel sheets currently account for around 70% of total sales volume. We expect this segment’s contribution to increase further, reaching nearly 75% by FY26. Our steel product manufacturing prowess, coupled with our partners’ expertise in servicing OEM customers, will ensure high-quality and reliable products for the white goods industry,” said a Jindal (India) spokesperson.
Earlier this month, Jindal (India) commissioned 0.6 million MT of downstream steel capacity expansion at its manufacturing facilities in West Bengal. The commencement of commissioning of the new cold rolling complex marks the completion of a major part of the expansion. This capacity expansion will lead to a 60% increase over the company’s existing 1 million MT per annum capacity. With an investment of Rs 1500 crore, the company expects to achieve a significant increase in its sales revenue in the coming years.
